New Look Will Boost Morale, Inspire Fresh Starts
VICTORIA, BC (April 15, 2010) - White Knight Painting Ltd. has announced the completion of their Annual Charity Paint Giveaway, which gave a fresh look to three bedrooms at The Cridge Transition House for Women. Each year, White Knight Painting's customers nominate causes they feel would benefit from a charity paint job. Past winners include The Cridge Brain Injury Program.
Bob Fuchs, President of White Knight Painting Ltd., says, "It's always a difficult choice, but we chose The Cridge Transition House for Women because we felt we could affect positive change in the most amount of lives."
Candace Stretch, assistant manager of Women's & Family Services for The Cridge Centre for the Family, agrees that the work will have a positive impact on the transition house. "When a woman escapes an abusive situation, it's important for her to come to an environment that's warm, inviting and bright. Having a space that's fresh and clean makes it more of a home," she says.
"Paint has a magical ability to make things new again," says Fuchs, "Giving back to the community helps reinforce who we are: White Knights who follow the ancient code of honour, gallantry, loyalty and fairness to our customers and the community at large. We hope the fresh painting gives the bedrooms a new look and inspires a fresh start for the guests at The Cridge Transition House for Women."

The Cridge Transition House for Women is a safe place for women, with or without children, who are escaping violent or abusive relationships. They offer 24-hour emergency assistance in crisis intervention and counselling. In addition, The Cridge Transition House for Women provides resource referral and advocacy for legal, medical, financial and other support services, including outreach programs for non-residents.
