Happy Friday!
Welcome to the weekend, everyone. Hope you’re getting excited for sunshine and summer… I know we are!
Things have been exciting around the Writing Victoria offices lately. As of today, we’ve finalized the content for the Writing Victoria website. Our portfolio is up and running, so be sure to check out some of the pieces we’ve been working on. Thanks so much to Scott Morrish from Silver Barrel Solutions for his time and hard work coding the site. Writing Victoria also owes Jason van der Valk a shout out for the amazing design. Thanks, guys!
In other news… Be sure to check out the cover story that Candice wrote for the May 2009 Vancouver Island edition of Senior Living Magazine, called The Pilates Method. In the article, Candice investigates the benefits of practising Pilates later in life and talks to some dedicated students in Victoria, B.C. You can read The Pilates Method on Writing Victoria’s portfolio or pick up a copy of the Senior Living Magazine in May.
Candice also wrote a profile for the May 2009 Mainland edition of Senior Living Magazine, called Spinning a Yarn. The article is a continuation of Candice’s February 2009 piece, Story Telling through Song and Memoir. Spinning a Yarn takes the story of singer song-writer Judy Norbury a step further and delves into her mother’s life as a model, post-Raj Memsahib and spinner/weaver. If you’re in Greater Vancouver during the month of May, pick up a copy of Senior Living Magazine to read the article. Otherwise, keep an eye on the Writing Victoria blog – it’s coming soon.
Right now, Candice is also working on a feature for Epilogue Magazine about Atomic Vaudeville, a cabaret-style theatre company in Victoria, B.C. She is also researching for an upcoming Senior Living feature about outrigging in Victoria, B.C.
